 <\/em>A pesar del glamour del web 2.0 y de las redes sociales, cuando queremos examinar la magn\u00edfica campa\u00f1a de Obama hay que hablar de grassroots organizing<\/em>, o sea la organizaci\u00f3n de activistas. No es un concepto nuevo, tiene sus ra\u00edces en principios del siglo XX y, concretamente, en el partido progresista que en 1912, seg\u00fan al Senador Albert Jeremiah Beveridge, \u201cese partido ha venido de los grass roots<\/em>. Se ha nutrido de la tierra y de las necesidades de la gente sencilla.\u201d M\u00e1s recientemente, grassroots organizing<\/em> corresponde a mi ocupaci\u00f3n durante los a\u00f1os 90 en The American Heart Association y la Artritis Foundation. <\/p>\n

La idea es sencilla: Grass=hierba \/ roots=raices<\/p>\n

Una sola brizna de hierba no es nada. Pero cuando sumas mucho puedes llegar a tener una gran cantidad de c\u00e9sped. De este modo, aplicamos la idea de la organizaci\u00f3n de activistas desarrollando grupos peque\u00f1itos en ciudades, pueblos y barrios. Es un trabajo que hay que hacer poco a poco y que requiere dedicaci\u00f3n, constancia y paciencia, El premio al final es un grupo enorme de seguidores preparados para combatir a favor del candidato o bien, por una causa. M\u00e1s que una campa\u00f1a, es un movimiento social.
